There are plenty of extravagant ways to celebrate your love of British boy bands, but only kidnapping Take That and keeping them under your stairs could top living in a house once owned by Robbie Williams.
Luckily, you don’t need to live quite so dangerously – though you will need to have plenty of spare cash in the account, as Robbie’s sprawling English mansion has been put up for sale with an asking price of £7.5 million.
The cheeky ex-solo star, estimated to be worth around £80 million, bought the house in 2022, at a time when most of us had given up hope of Take That ever performing as a five-piece again.
But alas, since being reunited with his old bandmates, it seems Robbie has decided that the Wiltshire countryside is no longer for him.
His 18th-century pad is on the market at a considerable discount from the £8.5 million he paid, so if you happen to have a lottery win burning a hole in your pocket, look no further.
Compton Basset House is set in 71 acres of breathtaking countryside and features a helicopter hangar, two staff flats and a cottage, as well as incredible gardens complete with majestic fountains and stunning temples.
Within a year of purchasing the house, Robbie reportedly added a full-size football pitch and a dirt track for quad biking – so it would make a perfect lads’ retreat.
There’s plenty of luxury for ladies to enjoy though, as indoors you’ll find a sauna and hot tub, his ‘n’ hers bathrooms and a truly fabulous indoor swimming pool. The seven-bedroom manor also boasts an enormous wine cellar and library.
If you’re willing to believe what the press are saying, Robbie is thought to have bought the property largely because of its ‘crop circle’ location – he’s a keen UFO spotter by all accounts.
However, if there’s one thing that even the finest piece of popstar-lived-in real estate can’t provide, it’s decent weather.
Robbie swiftly moved back to Los Angeles just months after first acquiring the estate, complaining of a miserable climate.
But if you’re willing to accept what the weatherman brings – and you’re not too put off by the thought of little green men appearing through the trees – Compton Basset House could be yours. Without doubt, the ultimate in Take That memorabilia.
