If you’re nearing the end of an interior design project and are keen to add a few finishing touches to complete a room, then you should give careful thought to your choice of contemporary door handles.
You might not think it, but the key to any successful redesign is attention to detail and if you neglect to invest in the best fixtures and fittings that you can, then the overall impact of a living space may not be quite as significant as you’d hoped.
Once you start doing some research into contemporary door handles, you will find that there are many you can choose from and it may depend on which room of the house you are refurbishing as to which one you decide to opt for.
For example, if you are replacing the front door, you could find that an Art Deco door handle is the best option, available in a range of finishes such as satin black nickel, satin chrome or sand-casted.
Of course, a front door could well benefit from either a brass or bronze door handle on plate, a colour that would look really smart facing out onto your street.
Should you be in the midst of redecorating your bathroom suite, however, then black nickel door handles could look fantastic. These are very smart and contemporary and, if you’re intent on creating a sense of luxury in your bathroom, these products could be the perfect way to finish off the space.
Such handles will also go with any colour scheme and will absolutely stand the test of time, should you decide to redo your bathroom, bedroom or living room later on down the line.
However, you might find that black nickel door handles go particularly well with a muted palette, such as pale greys and whites, although they would look equally good when used alongside a brighter shade, such as red or green.
One point to bear in mind when choosing contemporary door handles is how your product of choice feels in your hand. You might prefer an angular handle or a glass or crystal internal mortice knob, but you could be more comfortable going in and out of a room if you opt for bulbus nickel door handles.
If you go for these in a satin nickel finish, you won’t be disappointed – this is a particularly stylish look and one that would fit well with any modern interior.
Satin nickel products would look great in the bathroom and you could even pair the fixtures on your bathtub, sink, shower and commode with those on your bathroom door for a very unified and contemporary look.
Should none of these appeal, then why not consider the wide range of stainless steel door handles on offer? These can have just as good an effect in the home as black nickel or satin nickel handles and could suit simpler tastes without having to compromise on that luxurious feel.
The material is also rust-resistant, so it would be ideal for use in the bathroom or kitchen, where water is liable to be splashed about.
So, when embarking on interior design projects this year or next, don’t forget to devote some time to picking out the smaller fixtures and fittings, such as contemporary door handles – you certainly won’t regret it.
